How to download and install the High-Security Connection on an ECOT-Supplied PC.

1. Log into your ECOT computer (online) normally, to connect to the Internet.
2. Read all of these instructions before proceeding to the end.
3. Click on the "Click Here to Download" link at the end of this page.
4. In the "File Download" window which appears, click "Save".
   • Do NOT click on "Open". This will attempt to install the file from the server, which could lock up your computer.
5. When the "Save As" window appears, on the left side click on the "Desktop" icon.
6. Click on the "Save" button (lower right of the window).
7. Wait for the software to load.
8. If the "Download" window does not close automatically, click the "Close" button.
9. Close windows until you see your desktop.
10. Double-click the icon named "StudentVPN".
11. In the first "Student VPN Installation" window, click the "Next" button.
12. Take note of the instructions which appear, concerning some settings you must choose.
13. Do not cancel during the installation.
14. In the "VPNEC" window which appears, click the settings that you noted in step 12 above.
15. Click OK in this window
16. After a quick install, the VPNEC Setup window appears.
17. Click "Cancel" at this point.
18. Back at the "successfully completed" window, click the "Finish" button.
19. Now you must log off of your machine.
20. Log back into your machine.
21. This time, and from now on, be sure that you DO check the "Log on using dial-up connection"
    • This new connection has replaced the phone dialer.
    • You must click "dialup" each time you log in, in order to use this connection.
22. The VPN dialer should appear and automatically fill in your name and password, and connect.  This may take a minute or two.
23. Down in the tray (in the lower-right corner of your screen) you will now see a new little icon of two computers. This icon will blink as traffic moves to or from your computer.
24. Process is complete.
25. On your desktop you should find a new Word document named "ECotVPNStudent".  Open this for more detailed instructions about using this connection.
